Before You Submit

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • the manuscript is within the journal's scope;
  • author/s agree about Journal Information, Policies, Ethics
  • the work is original and not under consideration by another publication;
  • all authors have approved the submission;
  • the manuscript has been prepared using the official WiPiEC template;
  • ethical approvals have been obtained where required;
  • funding sources and competing interests have been disclosed; and
  • all required files are ready for submission.

Article Types

Full Papers

Full Papers present original research, professional studies, surveys, or tutorials that make a significant contribution to embedded computing and related fields.

  • Recommended length: up to 6 pages
  • Maximum length: 10 pages

Short Papers

Short Papers report concise research results, novel methods, experiments, simulations, or practical developments.

  • Recommended length: up to 4 pages
  • Maximum length: 6 pages

Technical Notes

Technical Notes describe innovative hardware, software, algorithms, circuits, or system design concepts.

  • Maximum length: 3 pages

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts using the official WiPiEC template.

A manuscript should normally include:

  • Title
  • Author information and affiliations
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Main text
  • Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  • Funding statement
  • Declaration of competing interests
  • References

Templates

Submission Procedure

Manuscripts are submitted through the journal's online submission system.

The submission process consists of the following steps:

  1. Register or log in to the journal website.
  2. Start a new submission.
  3. Upload the manuscript and any supplementary files.
  4. Complete the required metadata.
  5. Confirm and submit the manuscript.

Authors may monitor the status of their submissions through the online system throughout the editorial process.

Supplementary Materials

Authors are encouraged to submit supplementary materials that support the reproducibility and understanding of their research. These may include datasets, source code, multimedia files, appendices, or additional documentation.

Supplementary materials will be published when accepted by the Editorial Team and appropriately referenced in the manuscript.

After Submission

Each submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment to verify its suitability for the journal and compliance with submission requirements.

Suitable manuscripts are sent for peer review. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts before a final editorial decision is made.

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, production, and online publication.

WiPiEC is a Diamond Open Access journal.

  • No submission fees
  • No article processing charges (APCs)
  • No publication fees
  • Immediate open access to all published articles

If page charges for manuscripts exceeding the recommended page limits are applicable, authors will be informed during the editorial process.

Authors retain the copyright to their published work.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence, which permits non-commercial sharing and reuse with appropriate attribution.

Repository Policy

Authors may deposit the published Version of Record in institutional repositories, personal websites, and recognized scholarly repositories, provided that the original publication in WiPiEC is properly cited.
